Hornets Release 2014-15 Schedule

The NBA released its 2014-15 schedule Wednesday evening, and Al Jefferson and the Charlotte Hornets will have to negotiate an interesting path to get back to the postseason.

Charlotte will tip its season off at home Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. ET against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Big Al will be tested in Game 2 when the Hornets host Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol and the physical Memphis Grizzlies. The following night, the Hornets will head to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks for their first nationally televised game of the season on NBA TV.

The Hornets will have several nationally broadcast contests, including Dec. 15 against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Dec. 26 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as well as late-season ESPN appearances against the Toronto Raptors on Apr. 8 and 15.

Big Al will have an interesting New Year’s Eve matchup with fellow All-NBA center Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets. He’ll also match up with the league’s other All-NBA big man, Joakim Noah, in four meetings with his Chicago Bulls this year—the first coming on Dec. 3.

Twice in January the Hornets will take on the reigning NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, on Jan. 14 and 28. They’ll also meet the defending Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat four times throughout the year, giving them four times to exact revenge on the squad that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.
