Big Al Adjusting to Life in China
Big Al has been over in China preparing to play his first season in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers after signing with the team over the summer.
After 14 seasons in the NBA, Al is looking forward to the challenge of playing in the CBA, and after last season in Indiana acting as more of a veteran mentor, he is excited to get back to playing a larger role on the court.
In this interview, Al discusses his decision to move to China, the business of the NBA and his friendship with Jeremy Lin.
“In the NBA, my role changed (to) just being a veteran guy and helping the young guys, which that was a great role too, but I still wanted to play at a very high level,” Jefferson said. “And I heard this was the next best thing, and I got an opportunity to come and now I’m here.”
